A MESSAGE FROM NEIL ROBERTS
The AFL and AFLW competitions are fiercely fought battles and all clubs are under pressure to maximise income over the longer term. This is where Gifts in Wills (bequests) can be yet another opportunity to make a difference.
It has long been a hope of mine that St Kilda Football Club embraces the concept of Gifts in Wills and the realisation that both supporter and club can create lasting friendships and comfortable fellowship within the regular activities of the Saints Bequest Society.
This process is one that adds another dimension to our Society members’ love affair with St Kilda Football Club and provides a wonderful thrill, particularly for our older members, as we reward, recognise and thank them for their commitment to providing ongoing support for the club.
I accept the esteemed title of Patron of the Saints Bequest Society with great honour.

Some 52 years ago I strolled into the Moorabbin Oval through the bowling green end turnstiles to watch the mighty Saints defeat the Shinboners by 5 goals. So began the partnership of a lifetime that would bring about both tears of joy and disappointment. From that point onwards there was only ever one team in our family – the Saints. Through three generations, our family have had an active association with this great club and for me there is no more fitting way to honour my legacy.

I went to my first St Kilda game in 1961. From then I was hooked. St Kilda became my family, the Junction Oval supporters’ lifelong friends. I hosted players in my home and have a special rapport with many players. Working for the club and setting up and curating the St Kilda FC Heritage Museum has become a passion of mine and keeps me involved. Leaving a legacy to St Kilda affirms my lifelong connection.
